Okay, I never leave reviews… but I HAD to share my experience with the Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector — especially if you’re into cookie decorating like I am.
I bought this pico projector a few months ago after seeing a few cookie artists use one on Instagram. At first, I was skeptical — could this little gadget really help that much? The answer: YES. Total game-changer.
I use it to project designs, logos, and lettering directly onto cookies. All I do is upload my design to my phone, connect it to the projector, and aim it at the cookie. It projects clearly and brightly, even in a decently lit room. From there, I just trace the lines with royal icing — no more second-guessing or redoing cookies because of uneven writing.

The Kodak Ultra Mini is tiny — like, it fits in the palm of my hand. It’s super lightweight and easy to set up. I love that it has a built-in battery, so I don’t have to deal with a bunch of cords all over my workspace.
For something under $200, this little guy has seriously leveled up my cookie game. I used to dread writing names or doing detailed designs by hand, but now it’s actually fun — and the results are so much more professional-looking.
If you’re a beginner or even running a cookie business, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s made my process faster, more consistent, and way less stressful. Honestly, I don’t know how I decorated without it!

✅ Pros:
- So small and easy to store.
It’s literally pocket-sized. Doesn’t take up any space on my already cluttered baking table, which I love. - Perfect for tracing.
I project names, characters, logos, you name it — right onto the cookie, and just trace with royal icing. It’s made everything look cleaner and more professional. - No cords everywhere.
It’s rechargeable, so I can use it without being stuck next to an outlet. Huge plus when I’m moving around my kitchen. - Easy to set up.
Took maybe 5 minutes to figure out, and I’m not tech-savvy. - Good price.
For under $100, it does everything I need for decorating.
❌ Cons:
- Needs a darker room.
If the lights are too bright, the image fades. I usually dim the lights a bit when decorating. - No built-in Wi-Fi.
I had to get a separate adapter to mirror my iPhone screen. Annoying at first but not a big deal now. - Focusing can be fussy.
Took a little trial and error to get the image sharp on my cookies, especially when I change tray heights.
